Why the Tete Scholarship Fund Was Created
The Tete Scholarship was created in honor of Mrs. Tete, one of the junior secondary/middle school teachers of Founder Faith Ememodo, whose kindness, courage, and support made a lasting impact during a very difficult season of Faith’s educational journey.
Mrs. Tete was more than a teacher. She became a source of protection, encouragement, and hope. At a time when Faith faced financial challenges and was often at risk of being sent out of school because of unpaid school fees, Mrs. Tete stepped in with compassion. She provided school materials and supplies, gave her money for lunch, and made sure she had food when she needed it most.
There were moments when Faith was sent out of school, but Mrs. Tete did everything she could to protect her and ensure she stayed in class. At times, she would temporarily hide Faith so she would not be forced to leave. Other times, she would stand in line, speak to the school principals on her behalf, and even request that part of her own salary be used to support Faith’s education, making sure she was not forgotten.
